About Julia: I am Julia Darling, a native of Cleveland, Ohio. Graduate of Kent State University BS of Education I was a kindergarten Teacher for 18 years then became a business owner. As a resident of Huddleston, I involved myself in the Smith Mountain Chamber 5 years ago. I involve myself in the community as much as I can. As the owner of Savvy Promos LLC and Casago Smith Mountain Lake & Casago Snowshoe I bring diversified experience to the table. I became an ambassador in 2020. Now, I have been honored as the Chairperson of the 2023 & 24 Ambassadors. I graduated from the 2021 SML Leadership Academy- a 12-month leadership program designed to develop a diversified corps of informed, committed and qualified individuals who will assume leadership roles for Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania County organizations, both public and private, to meet the needs of the future. As an employer I wanted to extend the knowledge of the program to staff. Savvy Promos and Casago SML have graduated 2 staff from the 2022 & 23 Leadership Academy. Savvy Promos is a supplier of screen printing, embroidery and advertising promotional specialties. I was an owner of Shirt Tales INC., Vienna, WV for 15 years before selling in 2016. Then starting Savvy Promos in 2016. With 20 years of experience with a Bachelor of Advertising Specialty Institute degree- BASI I thrive on thinking outside the box to help companies and events image themselves differently. Also, Savvy belongs to the VAPPA- Virginia Promotional Product Association. I have a partnership in Casago SML and Casago Snowshoe which are property management companies of privately owned homes.

Casago SML manages lake front homes around Smith Mountain Lake. Casago Snowshoe is a property management of Ski in and Ski Out in Snowshoe, WV. The Company is a member of Vacation Renters Management Association.
Traveling to see family, find warmth & sunshine in a variety of Islands in the Caribbean, United States, boating on SML, gardening at home or helping someone else, or decorating my home or for friends is how I spend my spare time.
