Selling Custom Jewelry & Giving Back To Charity
I have jewelry designs that I donate a percentage of profits to causes like World Central Kitchen and Stop AAPI hate campaigns. I've raised over 10K for charities so far!
What was the inspiration to start this business?
Expressing myself creatively!
When you started your business, did you ever envision that you would be where you are now?
No way, not at all! I studied science in college (UC Berkeley) but I wanted to be a screenwriter or chef.
Was there ever a time that things didn't fall into place, struggles, or challenges? What were they and how did you get passed it and grow from the experience?
I'm always struggling with my business and feeling comfortable with "what does success mean to me."?
What was the biggest lesson you learned while starting and growing this business?
You build what you need, not necessarily what you (think you) want.
What would you tell a FEM that is struggling in her business and feel like it's too difficult?
Stop and assess your why and what you really are trying to achieve for yourself.
What continues to inspire you to keep on growing your business?
Creative expression is so important for the soul. If I wasn't making jewelry I'm sure I'd be doing something else creative.
Final advice for those thinking of starting a business or looking to grow their current business?
Make your business for yourself, first.
