We caught up with Nicole to talk about 2020 pivots and what 2021 will bring!
What was the biggest pivot you took on this year?
My biggest pivot in 2020 was shifting my private, referral-only practice to a public business working with more entrepreneurs both established and start-up.
Where did you find the support in taking on your pivot?
Support for my pivot flowed in several ways - friends and family, former colleagues, hired coaches, courses and FemCity. FemCity provided me with amazing support - classes that I needed when I needed them, the weekly networking session which has been a constant source of support, inspiration and connection and connections. I have met so many incredible women through FemCity and their support has made such a difference in my pivot and in my life. I am so grateful for the new friends, connections and opportunities afforded me by FemCity.
What advice would you share to women looking to pivot a big change in their life?
Anyone who is looking to pivot to a big change in their life should be clear on their why or reason for it and the outcome they want to achieve and know that it's okay, in fact a good thing, to ask for support. We can accomplish much on our own and so much more with the support of others.
What are ways that your mindset also pivoted this year?
Mindset is everything and something that needs constant attention. This year, I encouraged my clients to "check-in" with themselves and their mindset on a regular (yes, daily) basis. The events of 2020 have been chaotic and intense at times, it can be easy to let it get to you - regular check-ins can help to gauge and pivot as needed. My plans changed early in the pandemic, with that I needed to call on a strategic mindset to ask myself "how can I make this situation work for me" "what can I do different with my business" and went from there. If I had not, I am not sure where I be right now.
What is the biggest lesson you learned in 2020?
So many lessons this year...showing up makes the difference. Even if you do not feel like it or think you do not have time - show up, be consistent and be sure to laugh often - its good to feel good.
What about 2021 excites you most?
The possibilities...
Final advice for those looking to create a fabulous 2020?
Practice gratitude. You can look back on 2020 and find lots of lows, and you can look back on 2020 and find lots of positive, no matter how big or small - 2020 was filled with positives. When you stop and look for the good, the positive, the shining spots and appreciate them - you realize that life is fabulous.
