“YAMAMA LLC was born out of a desire to create a space that I couldn’t easily find for myself or my child—a yoga space where families, especially Black and Brown families, feel seen, welcomed, and celebrated from the moment they walk in. That desire grew during a long healing journey after a back injury, when yoga became less about performance and more about care, patience, and listening to my body. Practicing at home, my son naturally wanted to join me on the mat, and watching him move with curiosity and ease became my greatest inspiration. As a children’s yoga teacher and caregiver, I also saw how often wellness spaces unintentionally exclude families with young children, and how rarely children are introduced to mindfulness, movement, and emotional regulation in ways that feel joyful, culturally affirming, and accessible.” -Keshia Bahadur
