Creating High Performance Products For Competitive Women

Kebby Holden

We provide women specific endurance gear and provide a safe and supportive community for triathletes.

What was the inspiration to start this business?

The competitive triathlete! All clothes for the sport were unattractive men’s gear shrunk down and made pink (shrink it and pink it) and chafed really badly.

When you started your business, did you ever envision that you would be where you are now?

Yes and no! I suffer from major Imposter Syndrome sometimes. I didn’t know anything about clothing design and manufacturing when I started. But then I remember how hard I’ve worked and all the hours I’ve put into getting this brand up and running and I think “Yes, this is what all that was for!”

Was there ever a time that things didn't fall into place, struggles, or challenges? What were they and how did you get passed it and grow from the experience?

So. Many. Times. That’s part of building a new business. We have a motto of “Fail Fast” in which we aren’t afraid to try new things BUT we have to realize quickly if they are working or not and if not - pull them and move on.

What was the biggest lesson you learned while starting and growing this business?

I’ve learned how you can be a perfectionist without being perfect and when things aren’t perfect, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and make the next things as perfect as possible. That’s everything from product design, marketing, and IT systems to employees.

What would you tell a FEM that is struggling in her business and feel like it's too difficult?

It may sound like a bit of tough love but I’d say “Keep pushing through things.” You are stronger than you think. I have a Winston Churchill quote above my desk that says “When you are going through Hell, keep going.” I would say you are more powerful and durable than you know. But to respect your mental health limits.

What continues to inspire you to keep on growing your business?

All the women I meet and continue to come into this sport. Triathlon and cycling are so cool because age and body types are so ALL ACROSS the board for who is fast and hardcore.

Final advice for those thinking of starting a business or looking to grow their current business?

Just start. Be Curious. Know you will have to figure A LOT of stuff out on your own. And don’t ever be too haughty that you can’t wear all hats at all times, no matter how mundane. You will do ALL the roles at some point.
