My life's work has been dedicated to the uplightment of community. I founded a coworking space that focuses on the success of freelancers and entrepreneurs, I founded a women's empowerment non-profit that focuses on issues around entrepreneurship, mental health, family, immigration and sexual liberation.
What was the inspiration to start this business?
I always knew I wanted to be a leader, I knew from the age of 6 that I wanted to impact people in a positive way. My journey to my own individual success urged me to create spaces and resources to support others in theirs.
When you started your business, did you ever envision that you would be where you are now?
Actually, I didn't, I never thought that I would own a coworking space out found a non-profit that's I've received numerous awards. Especially since I started in music. My foundation in business is from the music industry owning a recording studio for 8 years and still currently owning a music production company I thought my journey would be there and there only. But I have been blessed to continue to thrive in music and expand in entrepreneurship and leadership
Was there ever a time that things didn't fall into place, struggles, or challenges? What were they and how did you get passed it and grow from the experience?
The truth is things very rarely fall into place the way you envision it to, but it does often fall how it needs to. I am about to release new book "The 10 Success Commandments" and Commandment 9 is do not confuse the process with the outcome! I tell myself this that's happening has its place in the journey but is not the final story.
What was the biggest lesson you learned while starting and growing this business?
I would say commandment 9 is the biggest and most helpful it has helped me to stay the course no matter what the obstacles are, but only in business but in my personal life.
What would you tell a FEM that is struggling in her business and feel like it's too difficult?
Anything worth having is worth fighting for! Evaluate what's holding you back, survey your resources to remedy those things and always always future your knowledge on your industry.
What continues to inspire you to keep on growing your business?
There are so many things I could name. The reaction people have after working with me, the inspiration people have when they met me, the faith my family and friends have in me. But ultimately it's the pure love I have for what I do.
Final advice for those thinking of starting a business or looking to grow their current business?
I teach branding along with other courses, but I stress on the importance of branding because I realize most entrepreneurs do not fully understand branding. It's more than just color, font , logo and website. It is the skeleton of your business. It is how the public views you. It is the foundation to your success.
