Why Women Need Rest-Centered Travel (And How to Make It Happen)

As women, we live inside cycles: cycles of time, and the internal rhythms that guide our energy

and emotions. We all know the feeling of stretching beyond them. Staying up late to be

productive. Waking early to get kids out the door.

It means we have to be more intentional about creating pockets where we care for ourselves.

Instead of pushing, we try rest.

This is where women-centered travel becomes less doing, and more being.

Travel can feel more like a trip than a vacation, especially for work or with family. You’re still

organizing and holding responsibility. But when women travel together for rest, something

extraordinary happens. We talk about what’s beneath the surface: body changes, business

worries, relationships, creative ideas. And the pressure to compare and control softens into

tenderness and joy.

I recently stepped away from my business to attend an all-women’s retreat in Serenbe. Our

laptops stayed closed, yet I returned with new, clear direction at work. Joy, I’ve learned, is

often the most sustainable path to growth.

So how do we actually make space for this, when our calendars already feel packed?

1. Start by writing a letter to yourself as if you were leaving for your dream trip

tomorrow. What excites you? What feels uncertain? Let that become your anchor.

2. Remember, you don’t have to do it all alone. Sometimes the most nourishing option

is stepping into a retreat that’s already been intentionally created with women in

mind.

3. Think both big and small. Make it real with one small commitment: squirrel away

some money, ask a friend to join you, or pick a date.

Connection through travel restores rhythm, and from that rhythm comes clarity about how we

want to show up personally and professionally.

Bon Voyage,
