What was the inspiration to start this business?

Creating the Messi Brand has been about a four-year process. It began with my partner, Max’s love for soccer came from Argentina, just like Leo. Throughout my career, I have designed lines for many celebrities and felt that this was a perfect fit to develop a lifestyle brand for the world’s #1 soccer player.

When you started your business, did you ever envision that you would be where you are now?

Being that the brand is just under a year old, I was excited about the potential to grow into a global lifestyle brand, however, I knew that there would be many steps to get there.

Was there ever a time that things didn't fall into place, struggles, or challenges? What were they and how did you get past it and grow from the experience?

I feel in managing a large team it’s important to delegate and not micromanage. It’s important to give your team the chance to grow while staying engaged and remaining abreast of what’s going on.

What was the biggest lesson you learned while starting and growing this business?

I am grateful for my brother Tommy who has guided, encouraged, and taught me my entire career. He taught me to be a good listener, trust my instincts, and be kind to all.

What would you tell a FEM that is struggling in her business and feel like it's too difficult?

Trust your instincts — not only do I trust my instincts finding great people based on a feeling but also in designing my first idea is usually my best.

What continues to inspire you to keep on growing your business?

I feel the best way to help our team thrive is through inclusion and positive reinforcement. I also think that it’s important to be thankful, to be kind, and to have fun!

Final advice for those thinking of starting a business or looking to grow their current business?

Slow and steady wins the race — rushing causes mistakes. It’s always better to take your time and do things right which is why our clothing is timeless, great quality, and always looks good
