HOW TO SIMPLIFY YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE //

HOW TO SIMPLIFY YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE.

Simplify. The word is everywhere. And, I love it.

Getting organized with any routine starts with simplifying and knowing what works best for you. I feel when you are organized, you have clarity to move about the day in a forward motion.

So let’s begin. Clear out your product drawer, bag or shelf. Take a good look at each product and ask yourself - is this an effortless step in my beauty routine? If the answer is even a half no, it’s a no.

I am absolutely guilty of having a makeup bag and hair product drawer full of Pinterest products. What’s a Pinterest product, you ask? It is a product that I saw on a makeup artist’s or hair stylist’s Pinterest board or their “must have” lists. I easily fall in love with the idea of full glam everyday, but in reality, I wear lip color, little mascara and my hair is usually up with loads of dry shampoo - for the win.

Once you have identified your effortless products, donate the rest. I know the money invested can be gut wrenching, but I promise it will pass. You are simplifying, which saves you money in the long run, and you are using only products that make you feel confident.

People can feel your confidence - even over FaceTime or a Zoom call. In this digital age, our beauty routines have likely evolved. Whether in person or virtually, I always put on perfume, mala bracelets and statement rings.

When getting ready for a virtual call or meeting, focus on just the front of your hair. If you’re curling your hair, let curls cool before brushing out. Always curl away from your face.

Here are a few of my go-to hair tips:

  • hairspray bobby pins so they don’t slip out.

  • Invest in a good dry shampoo that is nonflammable because butane and alcohols are uber drying for your hair and scalp.

  • Use headbands or bandana to hide flyaway hairs, grey or outgrown roots.

  •  And smile.
