Cassie Bailey // How She Created a Life to Make Memories
Tell us in a few sentences how your brand helps others?
I coach women on how to monetize their social media platforms, utilize social media for business and how to start their own business based on their passions and talents. I also have accounts about living fulltime in our rv and how to live financially free and get to explore and adventure.
What was your initial inspiration that got you to where you are today?
We almost lost our son when he was 5 to type one diabetes, I was done living the “typical life” and missing out so much on my kids lives and wanted to create a life where we can make memories and experiences and work on my own time when and how I want. My husband was a contractor for 16 years and it was so hard on his body. After we hit the road in our rv I was able to bring him home to be with the kids where he helps manage the house and homeschool while I run my businesses.
When you started your most recent path, did you ever envision that you would be where you are now?
I knew I wanted something better for my kids and my life but never did I expect to have gotten so far so quickly and coming from a place of poverty and unable to make all our bills to traveling the country and living a completely different life!
Was there ever a time that things didn't fall into place, struggles or challenges? What were they and how did you get past it and grow from the experience?
There have been many times things did not fall into place! In the beginning starting up there were many weeks without pay or steady income that caused me to get even more creative. I am also a fine art photographer and in a pinch I would announce that I’d be doing digital edits, posing coaching, training others how to become a photographer, you name it and I was thinking of ways to bring in money fast to be able to cover food and necessities. No matter what position we found ourselves in I always found a way to get us out of that place. My mind is entrepreneurial through and through, always searching for a new opportunity. One day in the beginning of my career we had been waiting on a check to come in that had been delayed for weeks, we were out of money and running low on fuel, so I hopped on my laptop and announced magical Christmas cards that I would be creating for clients and made $1,000 by the end of that day. It’s never been difficult for me to get creative especially under pressure!
What was the biggest lesson you learned during this journey?
The biggest lesson I learned was that nothing is perminant! You can lose it all in a blink of an eye, almost losing our son really showed us that! I have multiple streams of income for this reason! If one goes down or stops doing well I have 4 others that can keep us afloat. Never give up no matter how scary it may look, it’s worth every bit of the effort in the beginning to give the freedom to live life!
What would you tell a FEM that is struggling in her business and feeling like it's too difficult?
The most difficult things are the most rewarding! If you are feeling burnt out try to take on a new perspective, look at it from a new angle. Is there something creatively you can add? What problem are you solving for your clients? Are you properly showcasing this issue and then communicating your solution to that problem? Whatever you do, don’t you dare give up! Now is when you put in the grit and push to the next phase which is where success is made. You will appreciate so much more because of these hard times that are building your strength and endurance! The motivation comes after showing up consistently day after day showing up for yourself, showing up in your business and paving the way! You’ve got this and you are completely capable of making it to those goals!
What continues to inspire you to keep on growing your business?
When I first started out I wish I had someone like me, someone who really wanted to see me win! Who could see my talents and passions and guide me to the right direction. I want to be that for women who feel trapped and stuck, who have lived in poverty and not because they aren’t hard working or talented but because they don’t have the tools. I want to inspire people to go after their dreams and goals and to not give up by showing them where I came from and how far I’ve come despite the difficulties life has thrown my way! I continue to grow my business to show the possibilities of freedom in running my own businesses and living in our rv traveling the country! I continue to grow my business so I can actually raise my kids and be with them, to give them a role model of someone who works hard and reaps the benefits of that hard work. To raise children who also choose to live a fulfilling life. I continue to grow my business so my husband doesn’t have to work on another roof where he’s almost fallen off, where he’s landed in the hospital, where he’s accumulated back problems from. I continue to grow my business to pave a path I didn’t know was ever possible for myself! Going from the girl sobbing on the floor begging god for help because my electric had been shut off in the middle of winter and I had a baby, so we heated the house with our stove open and sheets covering doorways and everyone in snow suits, to the woman who now shows her kids the whole country, never worried about food in the fridge or the ability to pay for basic needs, who bought land in cash to create another form of passive income!
Final advice for those thinking of starting a business or looking to grow their current business?
Utilize social media! Don’t believe the lie that tiktok is for kids or Facebook is dying! Show up as your true authentic self! People are over the old ways of ads and businesses and are ready to invest in businesses they feel connected to, like they have gotten to know you and your heart! You can create a business out of anything, you don’t have to feel like you’re a creative person to be able to create a business! Anything you love to talk about to your friends is something you can create a business out of! You showing up as yourself is enough to create success! You’re completely capable of any business you want to start!
