Celebrate Yourself First: A Women’s History Month Reflection + Connection Exercise

The FemCity March Worksheet for Celebrating Women

March is Women’s History Month — a time to honor the women who have shaped our communities, industries, families, and futures.

But before we celebrate other women, we must begin somewhere powerful:

With ourselves.

At FemCity, we believe that how we see ourselves shapes how we show up in the world. And when women confidently recognize their own value, they create space to genuinely uplift others.

This month’s FemCity March Worksheet is designed as a simple yet transformational exercise in self-reflection, confidence-building, and celebrating women in your life.

Step One: Practice Self-Celebration

Before sending praise outward, pause and turn inward.

So many women are conditioned to deflect compliments, minimize achievements, and overlook their own beauty and brilliance. This worksheet gently challenges that habit.

Take a few intentional minutes and reflect on:

  • 3 of your favorite physical attributes

  • 3 of your favorite talents or professional skills

  • 3 ways you positively impact others (through business, leadership, motherhood, caregiving, volunteering, friendship, or community)

This is not vanity.
This is awareness.

When women name their strengths, something shifts:

  • Confidence deepens

  • Gratitude expands

  • Leadership strengthens

  • Self-worth stabilizes

Celebrating yourself is foundational to women’s empowerment. When you recognize your own gifts, you lead from wholeness rather than comparison.

You are not just productive.
You are powerful.
You are not just busy.
You are impactful.

Let that truth land.

Step Two: Celebrate the Women Around You

Once your heart is open, widen the circle.

In the March worksheet, we invite you to list five women you admire — friends, colleagues, neighbors, mentors, relatives, business partners.

Next to each name, write why she matters to you.

Is she resilient?
Visionary?
Compassionate?
Disciplined?
Courageous?
Consistent?

Then take action.

Send a text.
Leave a voice note.
Write a DM.
Email her.

Tell her why she inspires you.

Do not assume she already knows.

Intentional affirmation builds strong female friendships and healthy professional networks. It strengthens community and fosters collaboration over competition.

Bonus: Create a Movement of Women Supporting Women

Want to amplify the impact?

Share your appreciation publicly.

Tag her on social media.
Highlight her work.
Celebrate her character.

When women openly support women, it shifts culture. It normalizes generosity. It encourages emotional leadership.

And if you want to go even further?

Add five more women to your list.

Imagine if every woman committed to intentionally celebrating ten women this month.

That is how movements begin.

Why This Exercise Matters

Celebration is not superficial — it is strategic.

Strong women’s communities are built on acknowledgment, visibility, and mutual encouragement. When women feel seen, they rise. When they rise together, entire communities benefit.

This March, we invite you to:

  1. Reflect on your own strengths

  2. Affirm the women in your life

  3. Model what empowered community looks like

Download the FemCity March Worksheet and set aside 15 intentional minutes this week.

Because when women celebrate themselves and each other, we don’t just build confidence — we build culture.

And that is leadership.
