But What if I Get a Bad Review...
I recently had a 1:1 coaching session with one of my clients and the topic came up regarding reputation and integrity.
She was concerned that even though business was thriving and growing, she had one client who was a bit grouchy and not 100% happy with provided results. She was concerned that this one client would leave her a bad review, diminish her reputation and could really make her look bad.
I told her that it is inevitable that one day, someone won’t like our work no matter how hard we try and how much we give.
Sometimes people will be disappointed regardless of love, support and energy given. We can’t make everyone happy even with giving it our all.
If you are concerned that a client or a business colleague will say something bad about you and you have the fear of it ruining your reputation, here are 3 reminders.
The more successful you become, the higher the risk of someone not being 100% happy with you. No matter how much you give, love, and honor, there will always be one person that will complain, make up stories, and stress you out. This is a great thing because it means your growing and you’re not playing small.
Focus on being the best you can be with all your other clients and colleagues. Don’t let this one person make you feel bad, doubt your worth and mess with your stride. When you do good work in this world, others know this and when they hear from that one person, they will take it with a grain of salt. How many times do you go to purchase something on amazon and read the reviews and there are always 4-5% bad reviews and 90% great reviews. There’s always someone who’s up for complaining and adding a bad word, review, or comment.
Congratulate yourself because this means that you’re serving so many people that you’re starting to get into the place of finding some grouchy people. It’s also great because it means you decided to not play small, and not let others hold you back. You pushed through to get to where you are today!
If you’ve got a hater, good for you.
Got someone saying unkind things about you, that’s a reflection on them.
You’re still showing up, and that’s amazing.
Don’t let anyone dim your light.
