Catherine Hover and the wonderful Palette Cafe

Catherine Hover moved from New Orleans to Saratoga Springs, NY in 2011 with her husband, Mark. One year after the move, they opened Saratoga Paint & Sip, finding success with the venture and opening two additional spaces in the Capital Region and Vermont. Acclimating herself to the region, Hover noticed there was a lack of space that was focused on supporting women and set out to create just that. She opened Palette Cafe in June 2019 followed by Palette Upstairs in November 2019. The café, co-working community gives women in business the resources they need to flourish in both career and life.

What was the biggest lesson you learned from 2021?

Expect the unexpected! I never could have imagined that we would still be managing and navigating the impact of COVID going into 2022. I'm grateful for the strength of our community and for the way we've managed to support and encourage one another to success despite all the ever-changing obstacles that present themselves.

How are you preparing for 2022?

I'm working with my leadership team to approach how our mission is activated in real life for our members and community at large. The remote working lifestyle will not go away and we are investing in ways to create a strong and supportive foundation for people who want to level up in life and in their careers.

What advice would you give other female founders that are looking to create big success in 2022?

I attribute leaning on others, asking for help and creating a support system for myself to encourage me, support me and keep me going. That's what I'm going to invest in and that's what I suggest they invest in!

What’s your 2022 mantra?

Mama said there'd be days like this.
