Join us for the October Coffee Connection, sponsored by Courtney Buhrow of Revive Physical Therapy.
Courtney moved to Des Moines 10 years ago to attend Des Moines University for physical therapy school. Since graduating in 2018, her and her husband decided to live in Waukee and grow their family. She now has 3 kids, recently returning from maternity leave. After having her 2nd child she realized the importance of pelvic floor therapy and how it is different births have different recoveries. She also realized how birth trauma can affect overall recovery and the massive gap there was in healthcare for treating women holistically. Therefore, she started her own business in January 2022 to bridge that gap. She is passionate about providing holistic, all encompassing pelvic floor therapy to women and to men, not just chasing symptoms but providing long lasting relief. When Courtney is not in the office, you can find her outside with her family, playing in golf league, engaging in a competitive game of any sort, or watching a sporting event.
Revive Physical Therapy and Wellness was created in January 2022 to bridge the gap in women's health care, especially pelvic floor therapy. Whether you have had kids or not, everyone still has a pelvic floor that deserves to be strong and healthy. At Revive, we help women through all stages of life, prenatal, postpartum, perimenopause and beyond. Some common things that we treat: pelvic organ prolapse, pants peeing, constipation, painful sex/sexual function, back/hip/pelvic/tailbone pain, prenatal symptoms and labor and delivery prep, postpartum recovery, perimenopause changes, and more! We take a very holistic approach to care as we understand that there are many factors that play a role in healing: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, etc. At Revive, we also treat males for many of the same symptoms as females beside pregnancy and postpartum of course ;) In addition, we can help males with prostatectomy recovery and erectile/sexual dysfunction.
